British Airways suffers serious flight delays after global IT outage
BA cancels all flights from Gatwick and Heathrow leaving before 6 pm on Saturday as outage causes ‘very severe disruption’
British Airways has cancelled all flights departing from Heathrow and Gatwick before 6 pm on Saturday due to a major IT failure that is causing very severe disruption to its global operations.
At this time the inbound flight (BA65) from London LHR to Nairobi NBO is scheduled to arrive on time.
It is not yet clear if the outbound flight (BA64) from Nairobi to London will be affected.
You are advised to check the British Airways website and twitter account during the course of the day for further information.
The airline said that its terminals at Heathrow and Gatwick had become “extremely congested” due to the computer problems.
British Airways has therefore decided to cancel all flights from both of the UK’s biggest airports before 6 pm UK time on Saturday. British Airways said, “Please do not come to the airports,”.
