About Fly-SAX
Fly-SAX is said to be Kenya’s premier safari and private charter airline. They are based in Nairobi and operate from both Jomo Kenyatta International and Wilson Airports. The airline has daily scheduled flights to some of the best safari and beach destinations in and around Kenya.
Fly-SAX (also sometimes written as FLYSAX), and was founded by Don Smith and commenced operations in Dec 2010, following the purchase of East African Safari Air Express. Don Smith is currently the CEO of the airline.
Since the first flight from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara (bath in 2010), FlySAX has quickly developed its route network to 10 destinations in and around Kenya. Fly SAX also offers a charter service. Fly-SAX connects the region’s most beautiful and awe-inspiring locations with the main cities.
In Oct 2013, the airline launched bi-weekly flights to the Comoros islands which are located some 200 miles off the east African coast.
Fly-SAX prides itself on pioneering new and previously under serviced destinations, such as Kitale and the Comoros islands, and in offering bespoke packages through its private charter service. The private aircraft charter service provides passengers with maximum flexibility with flight times tailored to their travel schedule.
Fly-SAX Online Booking
It’s really easy to make a Fly-SAX online booking. Simply use the flight ticket finder at the top of this page. If you want to specifically search for Fly-SAX flights, then click on “more options”. This will allow you to select your preferred airline. You should be aware that if you are looking for the cheapest flights, then you should not limit your flight search to a specific airline. For example, if Fly-SAX has the cheapest tickets from Nairobi to Mombasa, Jambojet may have the cheapest tickets for your return trip from Mombasa to Nairobi. Fly-SAX Destinations and Flight Network

Fly-SAX Baggage Allowance
The airline indicates that each passenger is permitted one standard piece of hand baggage to a size limit of 56x45x25cm and it may not weigh more than 5kgs. Each passenger also has a free allowance of standard checked-in hold baggage to a maximum weight of 20kgs.
PLEASE NOTE: For safari destinations, serviced by the airlines’ smaller aircraft, the maximum baggage allowance is in total 15kg (including hand luggage) per passenger. Furthermore, only soft cases are permitted.
Additional luggage is subject to a significant excess charge of $150 per kg.
The following items are prohibited and may not be in any of your luggage:
- Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares
- Flammable liquids and solids
- Disabling devices such as mace or pepper sprays
- Poisons or insecticides
- Radioactive materials
The following items are not permitted in hand-luggage, but are permitted in your check-in luggage:
- Knives (including hunting knives, swords and pocket knives)
- Aerosols
- Scissors and any other sharp bladed object
- Weapons and replica weapons e.g. whips, batons, stun guns
- Sporting equipment e.g. cricket bats, golf clubs, billiard cues
- Items of high value that may attract pilferage
You are advised to contact the airline closer to your time of travel to check if there are any changes to their baggage policy.
