Precision Air (IATA code PW) is a public listed Tanzanian airline. Precision Air is a leader in providing scheduled flight services to more than 17 destinations within and outside of Tanzania. The airline operates from its main hub Dar es Salaam.
Precision Air was privately owned until 2003, when Kenya Airways acquired a 49 percent stake, paying US $2 million. This was only weeks after its competitor South African Airways acquired a 49 percent stake in Air Tanzania for US $20 million. The remaining 51 percent was retained by Michael Shirima, the founder of Precision Air.

In 2006 Precision Air commenced a fleet modernization program. The airline entered into a contract with ATR of France to deliver seven brand new state-of-the-art aircraft. The last aircraft in this order was delivered in September 2010.
In 2012 Precision Air embarked on a further fleet modernization program which saw the airline become the first operator in the world of the ATR 42-600.
