Bombardier Commercial Aircraft confirms that Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) has upgraded an option on one Q400 aircraft to a firm order. The Moscow-based aircraft leasing company, now with two Q400 on firm order, has in the past few days concluded a leasing agreement with Jambojet for both aircraft.
Jambojet is expected to take delivery of the first leased Q400 aircraft as soon as May 2017, and the second aircraft is to be delivered later this year. The delivery of these two aircraft will increase the fleet of Q Series turboprops operating in Africa to over 120 aircraft including approximately 70 Q400 aircraft.
This leasing agreement is a positive sign that things are going well at Jambojet. The airline continues to increase its fleet size and has plans to increase its flight network.
